INAIR Pod Compatibility With MacBook Monterey & VMs (2026)

Does the INAIR Pod Work With MacBook Monterey?
Yes, the INAIR Pod is compatible with MacBook Monterey (macOS 12). While the latest features are optimized for newer macOS versions, previous and upcoming versions of the INAIR Space application fully support macOS Monterey for spatial multi-screen casting. However, users attempting to run the Windows version of INAIR Space via a Virtual Machine (like Parallels Desktop) on Apple Silicon (M-series chips) will experience installation failures and crashes due to graphics driver incompatibilities.
Keeping Older Macs in the Spatial Era
A common question from our community is: "I have a 2015 MacBook Air stuck on Monterey OS 12.7.6. Can I still use the INAIR spatial workspace?"
The answer is yes. You do not need to upgrade your Mac just to use AR glasses in 2026. The upcoming revamped version of INAIR Space will continue to support these older operating systems. If you need the legacy installer for immediate use, you can download the older version directly from our website's archive until the new Agora-based update goes live.
The Parallels Desktop Warning (M1/M2/M3/M4 Chips)
For users with modern Apple Silicon (like the new M4 Macs), we have a strict warning based on recent support tickets:
Do NOT try to install the Windows version of INAIR Space inside Parallels Desktop. Users report: "It installs perfectly on Mac OS, but fails constantly when I try to install it on my Windows 11 Pro virtual machine inside Parallels."
Why it fails: Spatial multi-window processing requires direct, low-level access to the computer's GPU. Virtual machines abstract this hardware, causing the INAIR display drivers to crash. Always use the native macOS version of the INAIR Space app for Apple computers.
Works With the Mac You Already Have
The INAIR Pod supports Macs old and new, no upgrade required. Setting up a full spatial workstation for the first time? The INAIR 2 Elite Suite pairs the Pod with glasses and a keyboard for a complete setup on day one.
Good software should meet your hardware where it is, not force an upgrade you don't need. Discover more about what we're building.
