INAIR Pod With Windows PC (2026): Setup & Antivirus Fixes

How Do You Connect the INAIR Pod to a Windows PC?

To use the INAIR Pod with a Windows PC, you need to download and install the official INAIR Space desktop application. This software allows your Pod to project multiple virtual screens from your PC. However, many users recently encountered installation failures because Windows Defender or third-party antivirus software incorrectly flagged the application (specifically ddprobe.exe) as a Trojan or malware. To fix this, you must download the latest "sanitized" version from the official website and temporarily disable your firewall during installation.

Fixing the "Virus / Trojan" False Positive

A significant number of users reported: "I tried to download INAIR Space on my Windows desktop, but it says it's infected with a virus and blocks the installation."

The Truth: This was a false positive. Strict IT policies and aggressive antivirus software flagged our background streaming component (ddprobe.exe) because of how it captures screen data to transmit to your AR glasses. The Solution:

  1. Download the Latest Version: Our engineering team has resolved this virus-flagging issue in the late-March/April 2026 release. Please delete your old installer and download the newest version directly from the INAIR website.
  2. Temporary Firewall Bypass: If you are using an older version or strict enterprise security, temporarily disable your antivirus/firewall during the installation process. Once installed, you can safely turn the firewall back on. (Note: If you are on a strict corporate IT network, you may need your IT admin to whitelist the application).

Addressing Mouse & Keyboard Freezing (The Mini UI Bug)

Another reported Windows PC bug involves the system "freezing," where only the Windows UI is visible, the bottom icons disappear, and the mouse stops responding for a few minutes.

This occurs when the INAIR Space app crashes in the background but fails to close properly. Temporary Workaround: If your cursor reappears, click the INAIR icon on the bottom taskbar and click the 'X' to force close the application. Our developers are actively patching this stability issue in the upcoming updates.

Don't Want to Deal With Corporate IT at All?

If Windows security policies keep getting in the way, the INAIR Pod works as a fully standalone Android workstation, no PC connection required. For the complete setup out of the box, the INAIR 2 Elite Suite gives you that same independence from day one.
